Lostprophets’ second Start Something album is out. Newsround’s Rachel Gibson chatted to Jamie Oliver and Lee Gaze at a signing.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever been asked to sign?Jamie: You get pretty embarrassed at times.
Lee: People ask you to sign their shoes, which is kind of stupid.
Jamie: Phones is a new thing.
Lee: If I had a really posh phone, I wouldn’t want some idiot from a band writing all over it!
Does anything your fans do annoy you?
Jamie: Saying our name wrong. We’re not like Lost Prophets, you know, it’s just Lostprophets. Why isn’t there a space between Starsailor? You don’t say Mad Onna.
What does it feel like going from being pretty big on the underground to hitting the mainstream?
Lee: It’s good. I don’t know if it ever sinks in, you still feel like the same band. I feel like the same band we were when no-one was playing us on the radio. It’s weird when you see your video for the first time on TV.
So what’s your new album (Start Something) like?
Jamie: It’s like the Best of the Lostprophets, even though we’ve only done one beforehand.
Lee: It’s the best Lostprophets album you’ll ever hear. Until the next one.
