Stuart Richardson (born August 15, 1973, in Llwynapia Hospital,Tonypandy, Wales) is the bassist for the Welsh rock band Lostprophets. He is an only child. His mother worked in a butchers shop, bar and doctors office, and his dad was a miner.
He says his early obsession with music was David Bowie. He was
bullied at school, “I was wearing the thickest glasses and I had a set
of braces on my teeth..”. He bought his first bass guitar when he
turned 15, with ÂŁ100 he earned from a paper round and cleaning a bakery.
He replaced Mike Lewis
as bassist in Lostprophets after the latter switched to guitar, joining
them in 1999, just before they recorded their second demo. Richardson got married before the band recorded Liberation Transmission,
and his wife gave birth their daughter, Cada on November 2, 2006. He
was the first of the Prophets to move to USA for good, and some of the
other members are considering a similar move.
